Corporate/Principal Resource Geologist

SRK Consulting is an independent, international consulting practice, providing globally integrated consulting services to the international mining and metals sector.

We are seeking a Corporate/Principal Resource Geologist.


Description of Responsibilities:

  • Geological modeling
  • Resource estimation and reporting
  • Perform engineering studies (scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility)
  • Provide operational advice & reconciliation
  • Perform due diligence and auditing tasks
  • Act as Qualified Person (QP) for public reporting
  • Other duties as assigned.

Essential Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge and use in computerized modeling or resource estimation tools (Vulcan, Datamine, Leapfrog)
  • Strong working knowledge of exploration and production geology
  • Strong time-management skills and well organized
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to independently generate, implement and complete work assignments
  • Ability to create and maintain client relationships

Education, Certifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or mining engineering
  • A minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience in resource geology and mining, including:
  • Extensive experience in precious metals and base metals
  • Experience in both open pit and underground operations
    • Experience with drilling, database validation and management, QA/QC, sampling protocol, and analytical techniques;
  • Registered professional status or eligibility for registration in a professional organization
  • Qualified Person as recognized by the SEC, Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) or Joint Ore Reserves Committee (JORC), to prepare technical documentation for public reporting

Preferred qualifications:

  • Graduate degree in geology or geostatistics
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) will be highly regarded
  • Experience in Nevada-based exploration and mining is desirable

$150,000-$275,000 per annum USD
