We are seeking a Junior to Intermediate Water Resources (Civil) / Environmental Engineer to work with our Surface Water team focused on mine water management based in the Vancouver. Our ideal candidate is eligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT or P.Eng.

Our surface water team interacts regularly with our other technical groups (geotechnical engineering hydrogeology, geochemistry) as part of our Canada Geoenvironmental group, creating substantial opportunity for cross-discipline learning. Our team is dedicated to providing sustainable water solutions for our clients in BC, North America and globally. Our work supports mining projects from a wide range of commodities and mining approaches to responsibly manage water through the full mining cycle, including planning, operations, closure, and reclamation of abandoned sites.
Description of Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this position will vary depending on applicant interest and qualifications, but will generally include:
- Analysis and design of hydraulic structures, including but not limited to channels and ponds;
- Developing water management plans, from conceptual design through to detailed engineering;
- Water management and civil construction field work locally and internationally;
- Hydrological studies, including climate change, in a variety of climatic regimes to inform site water management;
- Development of water and load balance models to inform site water management decisions;
- Technical reporting and presentations; and
- Project coordination and project management support.
- Eligibility for registration with EGBC as an EIT or P.Eng.
- Strong analytical and computer skills in Excel are required, with additional specialized design/analysis software being an asset (e.g., HEC‑RAS, HEC-HMS, PCSWMM, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, Advanced Excel, R, Python, Leapfrog, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Goldsim, etc.).
- Suited to a consulting environment – no days will be the same or predictable.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Self-motivated and directed, with initiative and ownership mentality.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence, or equivalent.

The estimated base pay range for this position is $68,000 to $110,000. The salary offered will be commensurate with relevant skills, knowledge, and experience.
