DuctSIM Fan and Duct Simulator

DuctSIM is a software simulation program that helps mining and tunneling ventilation engineers model systems ranging from small, secondary fan and duct installations to large, series-fan systems. It is also used to design new installations and to troubleshoot and improve existing ones.

The program helps engineers visualize auxiliary systems and airflow and pressure trends along entire duct profiles so they can identify problem areas and leakage paths and locate fans to direct airflow where it is most needed. It also aids the optimization of systems by adjusting duct types and diameters; shock losses; and fan numbers, types, and spacing as well as the implementation of upgrades to make working conditions safer.

  • Design manual integrated with program help files and user's manual, including formulae, shock loss coefficients, the theory behind auxiliary system design, and comprehensive explanations of program functions
  • Graphical representation of the fan/duct system, flow and pressure profile, and fan curves
