Álvaro has experience in geotechnical and civil projects for the mining and energy areas. In the last 11 years, he has led geotechnical projects for conventional tailings both thickened and filtered in all the stages of engineering and supervision during construction.
He has extensive knowledge of design for dams, containment systems, drainages, earthmoving, design for channels and roads. He has been involved in mine closure, wind and solar generation projects. He has inspected works for dams, roads, and construction of power lines.
Alvaro also has experience with the preparation of bidding documents, cost estimations, and economic evaluations for civil and tailings projects. Additionally, he has carried out studies for the assessment of faults and interpretation of geotechnical instrumentation for large dams in Chile and abroad.
As a specialist in tailings and infrastructure he has served as reviewer and auditor for due diligence and technical audits.
