He is experienced in the management of open pit geotechnical programmes ranging from Scoping Studies, though Feasibility Studies, and operational open pits. He is skilled in rock mass and structural characterisation and slope stability design with a thorough understanding of operational needs, risk management and application of designs including the development of site-specific procedures for slope management. Alasdair is conversant with 3D modelling and specialist limit equilibrium and finite element software, as well as real-time slope stability monitoring systems.
