Alejandro has played significant roles in various field projects, serving as an advisor, consultant, designer, and QA supervisor. He is currently involved in GISTM audit projects, part of EoR teams, implementation of GISTM, design of tailings dam reinforcement, and different roles in civil works and slope analysis.
He has also contributed to preliminary feasibility studies (PFS) and feasibility studies (FS) and has played a crucial role in ensuring QA/QC for engineering projects across Latin America.
Alejandro´s experiences encompass slope stability assessment, geotechnical characterization, foundation design, supervision, dam stabilization advisory services, and the implementation of international standards for TSF, such as GISTM and CDA, for various projects in Colombia, Nicaragua and Mexico.
Alejandro holds a master of science degree in civil engineering from the Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, where he also served as a graduate teaching assistant in soil mechanics. He has been actively participating in conferences on tailings and geotechnics, sharing his expertise as a speaker.
