Brian specializes in the design and planning of large underground ventilation systems, ventilation and air climatic surveys, network analysis, dust and gas control, refrigeration, and the development of network ventilation and fire models. He has experience overseeing numerous ventilation studies involving nuclear waste repositories, hard rock mines, and coal mines. Brian has performed ventilation studies, surveys, optimization, and planning for mines located in North America, South America, Europe, and Indonesia. Brian has been responsible for survey planning, coordination with third party consultants and vendors, business development, and job estimating. He has also conducted ventilation and fire modeling short courses to expand the knowledge base of clientele both independently and in conjunction with symposiums/organizations. Brian strives to elevate the safety aspects of a mine through appropriate modeling, hazards analysis, and utilizing fire modeling as a key contributor to the successful design and implementation of an operation.
The practice of ventilation is continually evolving with new technological advances developed in the mining industry.
ПодробнееThis presentation is about the ins and outs of basic ventilation modeling. The math and assumptions behind most ventilation simulation software programs are common for basic ventilation modeling. Proper ventilation modeling techniques and assumptions should be used.
ПодробнееThe application of fire modeling to the development of a ventilation system can greatly enhance the safety aspects of a mine.
ПодробнееIn this presentation, we’ll cover different ways to accurately capture pressure measurements in underground airways and the importance of using both pressure and airflow measurements to accurately develop your ventilation model.
