Calvin has been involved with geotechnical projects related to mine operations, mine waste management, and mine closure. He has worked at mines throughout Canada, USA, and Turkey to provide direct operational assistance and design support for a variety of projects including: waste rock dump, dry stack tailings, and closure designs for gold mines in Turkey; pit walls and spoil designs for prairie coal dragline operations; and closure designs for several open pits in Washington state. Most recently, Calvin has been leading a feasibility level design for tailings and waste rock storage facilities in Alaska as well as conducting dam safety reviews in northern Saskatchewan and southern British Columbia. Calvin is also QP on a number of 43-101 reports and continues to be involved in due diligence reviews.
