David integrates skillsets in geotechnical engineering and structural geology to formulate geotechnical design solutions for mining projects, especially in challenging and complex structural settings. He specialises in open-pit slope design, stability assessment, geotechnical model development, rock mass characterisation, structural and geophysical data interpretation and site investigation.
He has experience in technical studies and reviews in Australia and worldwide across the full mining life cycle, from conceptual, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to design execution. These include various iron ore, copper-gold, lithium and nickel projects and other commodities.
David’s expertise also involves geotechnical and engineering geological modelling such as 2D and 3D limit equilibrium and finite element modelling and 3D geological modelling. He has also worked on geotechnical investigation and design for underground mining operations, tunnelling and pumped hydro projects.
