Francois is experienced in field and laboratory geotechnical investigation techniques and the application of limit equilibrium and finite element methods in geotechnical numerical modelling. Parallel to working as a Geotechnical Engineer for an offshore diamond mining operation in Southern Africa, Francois completed his Master of Engineering (Research) degree, whereafter he joined a multidisciplinary consulting firm and assisted with multiple civil infrastructure projects in South Africa, before joining SRK Kazakhstan.
Since joining SRK, Francois has been involved with Feasibility Studies, Scoping Level Study Studies and Audits for Tailings Storage Facilities in Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Zimbabwe, applying International Best Practice (GISTM, ANCOLD, ICOLD, CDA, ASTM) to the planning, design, operation, maintenance and closure phases of the Tailings Storage Facility Lifecycle.
