Herman Booysen

Herman gained the experience whilst working on projects for the government, local authorities and the private sector. He has also gained spatial representation and interpretation skills through his involvement in projects.

He specialises in spatial analysis, data processing and data visualisation. His technical responsibilities include evaluating data; digitising, editing and converting spatial and non-spatial data from various formats; working with large datasets to enhance spatial information and manipulating.

Herman focuses on GIS and disaster management and has undertaken and managed the development of GIS for district and local authorities. He has also conducted extensive work in the field of disaster management, including the development of disaster management plans (DMPs) and risk analyses. He developed GIS techniques to be used in disaster risk assessment and specialised in disaster risk reduction (DRR).
