John conducts ventilation surveys of underground mines to create and calibrate ventilation models to aide in mine planning. He specializes in integrating ventilation planning with mine design at all stages of studies, especially in diesel-electric mobile equipment trade-offs and ventilation infrastructure optimization. John also instructs workshops in underground mine ventilation measurement, planning, and modelling for conferences and clients. He serves on the executive committee of the Underground Ventilation Committee (UVC) of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration (SME). He manages the NQA-1 quality assurance program for SRK’s work in subsurface nuclear facilities and is a licensed professional engineer in Nevada and New Mexico.
