Oscar Sierra

Oscar has specialised in project management, rock mechanics, structural geology, geological modelling, geomechanical rock mass classification, site design, geotechnical instrumentation for underground and surface workings, recovery drilling.

He is qualified to work in the fields of geology and related areas, with a solid knowledge of rock mechanics, geotechnics, geophysics and geotechnical instrumentation, and shows a strong interest in research in these fields.

His interest in earth sciences and rock mechanics has materialized in several research projects, such as ‘New tools applied to flood impact mitigation using remote sensing’ at the University of Colorado. ‘Coherence between El Niño, Southern Oscillation and wave energy fluxes on the Caribbean coast of Colombia’. He has participated in research projects with the Darthmouth Flood Observatory (DFO) and the University of Colorado.
