Peter obtained a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (2003) and a master’s degree in Geo-Environmental Engineering (2010), both at the University of British Columbia. He has been involved in planning, design, permitting, construction, operation, and closure of mine surface facilities throughout Canada, with extensive experience at remote northern sites. His experience includes: geotechnical field investigations, stability analyses, waste facility siting and design, operational support, closure planning, and ground-freezing. He has developed comprehensive cost estimates for the closure of many multiple million-dollar projects of mine sites in the north. Since 2016, Peter has acted as Engineer-of-Record for a very high consequence tailings facility in British Columbia and is the design engineer responsible for the transition of the facility to passive closure.
