Sandugash is an environmental practitioner and sustainability consultant working in the mining industry, water resources management and water diplomacy. Sandugash holds a MSc. in Environment and Sustainable Development from the University of Glasgow, UK. She specialises in defining environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks and opportunities on projects covering a range of different commodities (base metals, bulk commodities, gold and uranium). She has participated in environmental and social reviews of several mines in Central Asia undertaken by SRK and has experience in environmental management in the mining industry in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. Sandugash has also previously managed international projects in the field of integrated water resource management in Central Asia under the UNECE Water Convention framework. Sandugash also provides a support with a review of water permitting considerations and legislative compliance for the projects. She has working knowledge of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan environmental legislation as well as environmental and social aspects of subsoil use legislation.
