Soumen has over two decades of experience in the mining industry, including in the field of coal geology for over 14 years. His expertise includes design, implementation and management of coal exploration programmes, geological assessment of coal deposits, computer modelling of tabular ore bodies, particularly coal; coal quality assessments; coal resource estimation; due diligence studies and coal geological model and resource estimation, technical audits, exploration planning, geological assessments and review. He has extensive experience in coal mining in Indonesia, Tanzania, western Africa and in India. He is highly proficient in Minex. He has experience in other modeling software like Gemcom Surpac, Deswik CAD etc, and has working experience and skills of inter-software data management.
Soumen is also experienced with ArcGIS and QGIS for developing GIS database and data creation, and developing GIS based information systems for decision making. He is highly proficient in most GIS based software and platforms. He is enthusiastic in implementing newer technologies in mining domain. Soumen’s earlier experience for more than 7 years was in oil and deep gas exploration sites of Oman oil and gas fields.
