Wouter completed his BSc (Hons) in Environmental Management and GIS at the University of Johannesburg and joined SRK in 2003. Wouter’s role is two-fold, i.e. developing new business in East Africa and the DRC and undertaking technical assessments and audits. His specialisations include environmental due diligence, reviews, audits; environmental and social impact assessment, closure planning, sustainability standard implementation, and geospatial analysis. Most of Wouter’s recent mining projects have been based in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and his project work has focused on compliance auditing, impact assessment, and closure. He also has vast experience with green and brownfield industrial developments across commodities and has been involved with various large-scale linear infrastructure projects.
