Dr Yonglian Sun is a Corporate Consultant of SRK China. He is a Fellow with the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a chartered Fellow Engineer with the Institute of Engineers Australia. Yonglian has broad experience in geotechnical, mining engineering, and project evaluation in five countries across four continents. He has extensive international mining experience in evaluating mining projects as well as in site investigation, analysis and modelling of geotechnical issues in open pits, underground mines, and civil tunnels. Prior to joining SRK, he conducted teaching and research at four universities in China, the US, and Australia. He worked in various mining consulting firms including Klohn Crippen in Vancouver, Canada and PSM in Sydney, Australia. He also served in two of the largest open-pit mines in the world for SPCC in Peru. Yonglian joined SRK Australia in October 2004 and relocated himself to Beijing and established SRK China from scratch in February 2005. SRK China now has two offices and employs around 30 consultants.
