The SRK office in Accra, Ghana, was opened in 2011 with John Kwofie as the country manager. John is a Geological Engineer who graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana in 1987. He worked previously for AngloGold Ashanti in Ghana and Mali, and Vedanta Resources in India. He also worked for Knight Piesold Consulting in Accra and later as an independent consultant.

His expertise is in open-pit slope stability, foundation investigations, and tailings dams. The Accra office currently focuses mainly on geotechnical engineering and has provided services to most countries in West Africa since its inception. Working together with the other SRK offices, particularly the UK, South Africa, and Australia, the Accra office has been offering consultancy services in mineral exploration, environment, and infrastructure to mining companies in the West African sub-region and beyond.
