Description
With increasing interest in pre-concentration for mining operations and long understood benefits from IPCC, maybe it is time to look at ways to integrate the two concepts. Both technologies have the benefit of energy savings, with commensurate reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, while pre-concentration has the added benefit of reduced water use and reduced generation of tailings.
This presentation provides insights into what options in pre-concentration, particularly bulk ore sorting (BOS), can fit with IPCC. Concepts of “Rougher”, “Scavenger”, and “Cleaner” application in multi-stage BOS are discussed, and a generic copper mine example is used to demonstrate the economic benefits of incremental inclusions of IPCC with BOS.
Packer injection testing efficiently characterizes rock mass hydraulic properties in mining projects, yet gaps in understanding persist despite widespread usage.
Learn MoreCase studies of three deposits were assessed using a simplified approach to pit optimization at a theoretical PEA level. These are not intended to showcase a specific workflow that must be followed, but rather to show examples of how the geotechnical risk can be considered when developing the slope design.
Learn MoreReview and discuss the principles of open pit mine design, using examples and practice exercises. Some of the most important aspects of mine design are introduced and explained.
