NY SME's Third Thought Leaders in Mining Symposium

Looking Forward - How to Best Manage Risks Impacting Mineral, Energy and Mining Supply Chains

Speakers will discuss how best to manage and evaluate risks as global extractive industries seek to attract new talent and finance capital to explore, develop, and operate critical, precious, and industrial mineral operations that feed global supply chains.

Attend if you are interested in forecast supply shortfalls of raw materials, metals, and rare earth elements related to the exponentially growing demand stemming from electrical vehicles, batteries, energy storage, the greening economy, and mining and metals. Industry-leading experts will discuss the global extractive industries' efforts to manage many risks, e.g., geological, technical, technological, human, financial, and regulatory, as they explore and produce mineral, energy, and metal resources.

Listen to experts in finance, technical, and legal advisory evaluate risks to funding and operating mines, including officials from the Government of Germany, the Province of Quebec and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO), who develop and advance policy that impact and support global mining supply chains.

Panel Discussion

Mine Risk Planning Includes Closure & Beyond: Roundtable Discussion | On Demand Virtual Session

The risks associated with mine closure and post-closure management, as the last parts of the mining life cycle, are often minimized during the development planning phase of a project and are typically not considered in as much detail in the investment decision-making process. This roundtable with five international mine closure experts tackles some of the most significant risks associated with mine closure including long-term, possibly perpetual, post-closure management, challenges in estimating closure costs, and how improving standards and guidance can assist companies in mitigating closure risks and improve transparency with stakeholders. With the global experience of these experts, the discussion also addresses challenges with planning and implementing closure in various jurisdictions around the world.
