This conference will feature a series of presentations focusing on the modelling and implementation of ventilation systems, cost savings, productivity, safety, and efficiency improvements and advances in ventilation design and modelling will be given from guest keynote speakers, industry participants, and some of the Howden Ventsim team.
When using Ventsim for future modeling, it is important to use resistance values representing the typical mining methods and ventilation control construction. In this presentation I will cover techniques for in-situ measurement and data reduction to establish custom Friction Factors for unique airways such as shafts and escapeway ladders, resistances of ventilation controls such as curtains, air doors and bulkheads, and regulator curves for both louver-type regulators and drop-board regulators.
In this presentation, a probabilistic methodology is used for a case-study dam break assessment (DBA) in which key variables affecting failure characteristics are treated as random variables that follow a given probabilistic distribution.
Learn MoreSEG 2023 will address the major challenges presented by the accelerated consumption of energy transition and other strategic metals.
Learn MoreThe main theme of the ISRM 2023 Congress will be focused on "challenges in rock mechanics and rock engineering", as well as exploring topics related to numerical modelling, rock engineering, tunnels and deep excavations, among others. This version of the congress has even more relevance to be held in the city of Salzburg, where the International Society of Rock Mechanics (ISRM) was founded in 1962.
