SRK Consulting announces the appointment of Erhan Karakaya as the General Manager of SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan) Limited, based in our Almaty office. Erhan brings over 30 years of experience in mine planning, project management and production across diverse commodities to this role.
A longstanding member of the SRK team, Erhan has consistently demonstrated his leadership skills during his tenure with the company, including serving on the SRK Kazakhstan board since 2020. Prior to joining SRK Kazakhstan in 2018, Erhan was mining team leader at SRK Russia in Moscow, managing the Udokan Copper Project. After leaving SRK Russia, he took on a senior open-pit management role at Kazzinc.
Erhan's extensive expertise encompasses a wide range of facets within the mining industry, including scoping, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, trade-off studies, transport options, mining method and equipment selection, productivity analysis, and comprehensive project risk analysis. His proven track record in delivering results has positioned him as a trusted leader within the organization.
This appointment underscores SRK's commitment to ensuring business continuity, fostering strong leadership, and developing sustainable growth in Kazakhstan and the Central Asia region.
