SRK Consulting welcomes back to its Reno office Patric Lassiter, an expert in asset retirement obligation (ARO) and mine closure cost estimating. Patric was a principal consultant with SRK from 2007 to 2013, before leaving to help found a successful solar installation company in California. With over 30 years of environmental consulting and global mining industry experience focused on permitting, closure, and reclamation, Patric has a wealth of industry knowledge and expertise to share with SRK.

Before working for SRK, Patric held positions at other mining consultancies and major mining companies such as Newmont Mining Corporations and Hecla Mining Company. As permitting coordinator for Newmont, he handled all aspects of reclamation and closure planning, including preparation of annual cost estimates for four Nevada mines. He has also prepared asset retirement obligation and life-of-mine closure cost estimates for other operating and closed mines around the world.

Patric has conducted due diligence reviews in diverse geographical locations, identifying and evaluating environmental compliance and permitting issues and liabilities. He has managed construction projects during all phases of environmental cleanup and is adept in budget tracking and quality assurance and control.

“We are delighted to once again be able to offer Patric’s mining specializations and operational experience to our clients,” said SRK Global Chairman Jeff Parshley. “Adding his ARO expertise and leadership skills will further broaden the scope of our mine closure service offerings.”
