SRK Consulting is an independent and international consulting firm that provides specialised advice and solutions to its clients, primarily in the land and water resources industries. In Chile, SRK proudly celebrates its 30 years of presence in the country, during which time it has accumulated vast experience and in-deep knowledge in the mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors. These years have been a journey full of challenges that have driven us to adapt to changes, stay at the forefront of technology, and build strong relationships with our clients. Additionally, globally, SRK is celebrating its 50th anniversary with more than 1,700 professionals working in over 40 offices across six continents.
To commemorate SRK Chile's 30 years, an event was organised in the city of Santiago, attended by the company's professionals, as well as special guests such as Tim McGurk, CEO of the SRK global group, Alejo Sfriso, President of the SRK global group, and people who have been very important to SRK Chile's journey since its inception, such as Andrew Barrett (former President of the SRK global group and North America) and Jeff Parshley (former President of the SRK global group). From SRK Peru, Karin De Rycker (General Manager of Peru), Antonio Samaniego (Corporate Consultant), and Ángel Mondragón (Principal in Mineral Resources) also attended the celebration, offering a heartfelt gift associated with prosperity and success for the Chilean office.
Reflecting on SRK Chile's journey over these 30 years, its Managing Director, Esteban Hormazábal, stated:
Throughout our trajectory, we have been present in various operations ranging from northern Chile to the Aysén region, and globally in North America, Latin America, Central Asia, Australia, and Africa. More than 3,000 projects have been developed, generating over 9,500 technical reports and documents, and currently, we have more than 160 projects in development. These figures are impressive, however, what makes us most proud is that many of our current clients have been with us throughout these 30 years.”
On the other hand, Tim McGurk mentioned:
30 years is a remarkable achievement in any calendar; it is a testament to the hard work, organisation, and contributions of everyone over the years, despite the ups and downs and adversities.” He also highlighted that “at SRK, we are deeply committed to seeking and developing innovative solutions and practices that are important and relevant to our clients. Providing workflows and using the appropriate language helps us deliver and communicate innovative solutions. It also helps us, as engineers and scientists, to integrate those solutions into our work, and it allows us to ask the right questions and collet the appropriate data."
