SRK Consulting welcomes Jake Jodouin to its Sudbury office. Jake is an engineering licensee with 22 years of experience focused on the design, evaluation, and supervision of mine ventilation systems.

Jake’s expertise will complement the new mine ventilation business unit created by SRK earlier this year when it merged Mine Ventilation Services (MVS) into its US practice. As part of SRK, MVS is continuing to address engineering and ventilation challenges associated with mining and other subsurface facilities. Through Jake’s appointment, SRK Canada, too, will be able to offer these services.

During Jake’s 17 years in operations and 5 in consulting, he has specialized in provided safe, cost-effective ventilation solutions at every mining phase from conceptual through prefeasibility, feasibility, planning, and evaluation to implementation.

Before moving to SRK, Jake worked for Stantec Consulting on the design and optimization of the Jansen potash, Red Lake hard rock, and Copper Cliff nickel projects in Saskatchewan and Ontario. For Stantec, he also conducted senior ventilation reviews for the South African Platreef project that will produce platinum, palladium, rhodium, gold, nickel, and copper. On the opposite side of the globe, Jake has worked in the permafrost conditions of the Meliadine gold mine in  Nunavut.

As one of the first engineering technologists to be granted a limited license to provide  mine ventilation engineering services in Ontario, Jake has established a broad base of clients in Canada and the US.

“By combining Jake’s skills with the extensive knowledge and operational experience brought to SRK by MVS, we will be able to provide customized ventilation solutions to a wider range of clients in Canada, North America, and worldwide,” said Gary Poxleitner, practice leader with SRK’s mining business unit in Sudbury.
