Rock Mechanics Studies

Chuquicamata Underground Mine Rock Mechanics Studies and Design 

The rock mechanics team has provided technical support to the Chuquicamata underground project over the last nine years. 

The work has included a wide range of topics, from collecting and interpreting geotechnical data to designing underground excavations, with more than 50 complex 3D continuum and discontinuum numerical models. 

To date, SRK's work on the Chuquicamata project is summarised in 35 technical reports and more than 110 construction drawings.
