SRK was commissioned by Gemfields Group Limited to undertake an update of the Competent Persons Report for the Kagem emerald and beryl mine in Zambia, and the Montepuez ruby and corundum mine in Mozambique. Previously, SRK has produced CPR documents for these assets separately, but for this update, the document covers both assets.
This CPR was prepared to support the reporting of Mineral Resources and Ore Reserve estimates in accordance with the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (the JORC Code or JORC), 2012 Edition. The CPR was also written to form part of the requirements for a dual listing on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.
The CPR covered a multi-disciplinary review of both assets, including geology, Mineral Resource reporting, geotechnical studies, open-pit mining, processing and washing, infrastructure, social, environmental, and health and safety, marketing, economic analysis, and Ore Reserve reporting.
Gemfields listed on AIM on the 14 February 2020, trading under the ticker symbol LSE:GEM.
