SRK was commissioned to produce a Mineral Resource Estimate for the Vasilyevskoe gold mine in accordance with the JORC Code (2012).
The deposit is located in the central part of the Boko-Vasilyevskoe zone and covers a 2.6 km long and 100-300 m wide section along the North Bokonsky fault. Sedimentary formations host the mineralisation. Volcanogenic rocks are represented by andesites and basalts. The mineralisation consists of a large, linear stockwork of both vein and disseminated-type mineralisation which contains zones of intensive silicification. The mineralisation is, in general, thick (typically approximately 10-30 m but up to 60 m) and continuous along strike and, especially, down dip.
Exploration commenced in 1947 and has taken place in numerous stages to the present day. Mining has taken place since at least the 1940s but, regionally, almost certainly dates to the Bronze Age. Vasilyevskoe is currently being mined by open pit, which is restricted to the oxide part of the resource. The processing is method is heap leach.
As part of this assignment, SRK provided technical assistance to the Client in the form of core logging and sampling training. In addition, SRK assisted in the development of detailed procedures for geological and geotechnical logging, sampling, QAQC and laboratory protocol.
