SRK oversaw and provided technical and operational supervision to a major exploration and resource drilling program at the Yogi magnetite project 15 km northeast of Yalgoo and 220 km east-northeast of Geraldton, Western Australia. The Yogi operation is one of the few iron ore projects in recent years that has been afforded Lead Agency status from the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation, recognising it as a strategic project for Western Australia.
Almost 45,000 meters of reverse circulation (RC) and 5,000 meters of diamond drilling was managed by SRK on schedule and on budget – safely, effectively and to the highest technical industry standards.
In addition, 3D modelling, structural geology analysis, geochemical and QA/QC assessment and geotechnical logging was provided as part of a packaged suite of services.
Following on from the field program, SRK went on to complete a number of components of the Yogi bankable feasibility study for FIJV, including resource estimation, geotechnical design, mine planning, tailings storage, geochemical, surface water management and ground water work.
