For mine ventilation, airflow measurements are often given greater importance than pressure measurements. Often, airflow measurements are the only measurement used to monitor a ventilation system. However, pressure and airflow are both important for monitoring and understanding a ventilation system. Measured airflow and pressure are a required element for the development of a correlated ventilation model. The resistance of airways is directly calculated from pressure and quantity measurements. In this presentation, we’ll cover different ways to accurately capture pressure measurements in underground airways and the importance of using both pressure and airflow measurements to accurately develop your ventilation model.
