Mining for the Energy Transition

To produce cleaner electricity we need copper, aluminium, lithium, cobalt and graphite for wind turbines, batteries and electric vehicle charging.

Responsible mining is a key part of the strategy to achieve the UK’s ambitious net zero targets. If we’re extracting these raw materials to help combat change and move away from reliance fossil fuels, it’s more important than ever to ensure we’re doing that in the most responsible manner possible. It also a great opportunity for the UK to tap into its own critical minerals supply to create a more resilient and less carbon-intensive source of these minerals.
