Jon is experienced in providing contract engineering design and commissioning services for industrial, commercial and residential clients throughout the western United States.
Jon has also worked as an independent consultant, providing contract drafting and programming services. He is proficient in the use of MineFire Pro+®, VnetPC Pro+®, ClimSIM®, MFIRE, VUMA®, Ventsim®, AutoCAD®, Matlab®, and Project®. Jon manages the mine ventilation software development at SRK Clovis.
Jon’s doctoral thesis researched the use of intrinsically safe refrigerant (organic propylene glycol) to provide sustainably sourced air cooling closer to working zones for deep and hot metalliferous mines. Harvesting the cold of the winter air and storing that cooling potential in a physical battery can provide sustainable refrigeration cooling power (MWh-R)(an order-of-magnitude reduction in compressor power consumption), while minimizing an operation’s carbon footprint.
