René Matías specializes in mining and civil engineering geotechnics; tailings dam design and management; soil slope design and geotechnical site investigation.
He has experience in the design of geotechnical projects including retaining structures (eater-retention dams and tailings dams), shallow and deep foundations, embankments, excavations, and other geotechnical structures.
René Matías has also been involved in the realization, interpretation and technical supervision of in-situ soil tests. He has a Ph.D. with a thesis in the development of a micropile control methodology based in dynamic load tests.
René Matías has worked on projects of tailings/waste dump structures in Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Burkina Faso, Canada, Chile, México, Perú, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
