Thijs has a solid track record of international project management and mine engineering experience. Prior to joining SRK, Thijs has been involved in technical projects in the likes of strategic mine plan optimisation of a major open-pit gold mine in Ghana, and technical reviews and cost modelling of underground mining trucks in Europe. Since joining SRK Consulting (Kazakhstan) in January 2020, Thijs either serves as project manager or undertakes technical work predominantly in the field of open-pit mine planning including pit optimisation, mine designs, production scheduling and cost estimations using a variety of software packages, including Whittle, NPVS and Deswik as part of Due Diligence, Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility studies throughout Central Asia, Africa and Australia.
