Cave mining is arguably the most financially attractive underground mining method due to its very low production cost. However, this method also has inherently very high financial risks given the extensive capital investment required to develop the mine. Compounding this risk is the requirement that all design decisions are locked in at a very early stage, when access to rock mass data is limited to core logging only. This ACG seminar has an exciting line-up of leading practitioners and consultants to share their extensive caving knowledge and experiences in a structured seminar, which will explore the key themes of cave design, operation and risk mitigation. The live, hybrid format allows for participation from anywhere in the world.
This seminar is designed to assist all mining personnel involved with cave mining. Mine managers; geotechnical and mining engineers; geologists; suppliers of ground support, instrumentation and monitoring equipment; mining contractors and consultancies; and mines inspectors may benefit from attending this seminar.
