SRK Exploration (SRK EX) was contracted by Cornish Tin Ltd to manage the first phase of drilling at it’s Great Wheal Vor tin project in west Cornwall, UK. The programme consisted of ~6,500m of diamond core drilling and took 6-months to complete. SRK EX designed all procedures for the programme, trained the Cornish Tin geology team, set up the core logging facility and managed the day-to-day operations of the drilling contractor and geological team. All logging data was digitally captured using MX Deposit and custom- designed data capture templates. This data was rapidly integrated into Leapfrog Geo 3D modelling software allowing constant adjustments and improvements to the planned drilling based on live data.
Prior to the start of drilling SRK EX provided technical geological input into the permitting and fund-raising stages of the project. This project is a prime example of SRK EX's ability to help a client initiate and execute an early-stage exploration programme from concept to completion of drilling, ensuring quality throughout. The SRK EX-trained Cornish Tin geology team are now continuing independent management of the project with ad-hoc technical consultancy from SRK EX as required.
SRK is providing a range of geological services for the Definitive Feasibility Study that Alliance is conducting for their NiWest lateritic nickel project. Activities to date have included the design and management of drilling programs, calcrete exploration, resource estimation and Competent Person reporting.
Resource drilling, mineral resource estimation and mine planning for a hardrock ilmenite deposit.
Through structural mapping and reinterpretation of old datasets, SRK helped identify new hematite iron ore targets.
