Francisco is a geological engineer specializing in geotechnics and has worked on exploration and geotechnical characterisation projects, geotechnical design of infrastructure works, soil dynamics, stability analysis of high altitude dumps, seismic and geotechnical risk assessment, analysis of geotechnical instrumentation, seismic microzonation and vibration due to machinery effects.
He has participated as director and specialist in the design of geotechnical works for mining projects, hydroelectric projects, road works, tunnels and port works.
Francisco has taught undergraduate courses (soil mechanics and rock mechanics) and specialization courses (geotechnical instrumentation and rock mechanics). Throughout his career, he has published several nationally and internationally refereed articles.
