He has led numerous surface water studies across various project stages, including Concept/Scoping, Pre-Feasibility, Feasibility, and Mine Closure, as well as a range of independent specialist projects. His expertise spans flood risk assessments, surface water management plans and audits, site-wide mine water balances, silt trap sizing, and surface water monitoring.
Sivan has worked on diverse projects across South Africa, Africa, Australia, and Finland, gaining international experience in addressing complex hydrological challenges. He is proficient in industry-standard software such as HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, and GoldSim for modelling and analysing surface water systems.
Throughout his career, Sivan has primarily worked as a consultant within the mining sector, managing a small team of hydrologists within a mid-sized environmental consultancy. Additionally, he has over five years of experience as a freelance hydrologist, running his own business and providing expert services to a variety of clients.
