Fluorite Deposit Definitive Feasibility Study

Fluorite Feasibility Study

Tivan Limited is progressing with its fluorite deposit towards DFS. The site is located in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. SRK Australia is assisting Tivan across multiple disciplines: Tailings, Mining, Geology and Hydrogeology.

The latest site work was focused on hydrogeology and included the following objectives:

  • Install of several surface water monitoring points intended to characterise the surface flow regimes across the site
  • Initiate a surface and groundwater sampling network which will feed into ongoing hydrogeological studies
  • Ground truth all water bore locations proposed by SRK in earlier studies ahead of drilling planned to commence in Q3 2024
  • Complete an aerial survey for groundwater-fed pools within the area surrounding the mine which may potentially be impacted by dewatering

For each surface water monitoring point, river cross sections were measured and, where possible, flow measurements were taken.

In addition, each location had a stilling well with a water level logger installed and a baro logger for local air pressure compensation. To be able to determine rating curves for each watercourse, a camera was installed to carry out particle tracking of river flows.  The particle tracking software required the installation of four ground control points and a stage board to be able to accurately model flows.
