Nyanza Light Metals (Pty) Ltd (Nyanza) is proposing to construct and operate a plant that will produce 80 000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) pigment.
SRK Consulting (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd (SRK) has been appointed by Nyanza Light Metals (Pty) Ltd (Nyanza) as the independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP), to undertake the WULA process.
The application is made in terms of Section 21 of the National; Water Act (Act No. 36 of 1998). The stakeholder consultation is undertaken in terms of Section 17(1) Regulation 267 of 2017 as promulgated under Section 41(4) of the National Water Act (Act No. 36 of 1998).

The Draft Integrated Water and Waste Management Plan (IWWMP) and WULA Technical Report are available for public review and comment and can be accessed below.

Stakeholders should refer to the project name and/or number above, and must include their name, contact details (specifying the preferred method of notification, e.g. e-mail), and an indication of any direct business, financial, personal, or other interest which they have in the application, to the contact person below, by 13 January 2025.
Note that only registered stakeholders will be notified of future opportunities to provide comment on relevant documentation.
